Cannon Design typically hires 1 Interior Design intern each summer (duration varies but is typically about 10 weeks – roughly June, July and 3 weeks in August).
We are actively interviewing candidates at present and hope to make a decision within the next 4 weeks.
This is a paid position.

The responsibilities of the Intern vary depending on experience and skills and project types within the office and their status. Responsibilities range from working on project documents on AutoCAD 2007, doing Sketch-up or 3-D Viz models, requesting technical or product data related to projects, doing photo-shop of Interior Elevations, advancing finishes documentation in the form of finish extents drawings, floor pattern drawings, finish legends and finish schedules. Activities may also include assisting in the assembly of presentations and assisting in maintenance of the library. Participation in Monthly Interior Design Meetings, Industry Events and Cannon Academy (Cannon’s in-house, award winning educational program) is also expected. The Intern is also responsible for respectful and positive team collaboration.
We prefer to engage Interns who are between their Junior and Senior years (1 year from graduation) but will consider those who have completed less of their program if their resume and work samples clearly represent an individual of exceptional talent.

This varies depending on the current project types and workload but relatively speaking it would cover (but not limited to) the following depending on talent / experience:
Site surveys and supporting architectural teams
Supporting designers with presentation deadlines and ideas
Furniture and finish selection for current / live projects
Library co-ordination and follow up
Furniture research
CAD support
Marketing support
Duration: Varies from 2-10 weeks depending on internal need
Do interns get paid? Yes we pay all staff
Qualifications:
We would welcome all levels to apply so that they can see the basics of an Interior Design practice but for the most part 3 years up is preferred.
Expectations:
Our goal is to find great students that we could continue to work with during possible future internships so that we could help them grow and ultimately offer them fulltime work after graduation.
