Mr. Minnick has spent over 20 years in the lighting industry in various capacities including the lighting specialist for a multi-office architectural/engineering firm, project manager at the internationally renowned lighting design firm Sylvan R. Shemitz Associates, regional specification sales representative for Lightolier, director of lighting design for a multi-office lighting consulting firm based in New York City, and currently as a freelance architectural lighting consultant focusing on sustainable design projects.  Mr. Minnick has been actively involved in IESNA activities and local boards of managers, including past president of the Western New England (Hartford) section, and has been the education chairperson and instructor for many IES seminars.  Mr. Minnick has received several awards for lighting design, including an IIDA Award of Merit.

Objective:  Gain an appreciation for what types of issues are covered by a predominant array of lighting related codes and standards currently in use (e.g., in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico).

Learning Outcomes:  Participants will be able to…
• Identify the governing body associated with the subject codes and standards
• Appreciate the range of lighting covered by any code or standard
• Discuss, with a degree of comfort, the contents of the subject codes and standards  for the version covered by this seminar
• Know where to look for more detailed information.

This seminar is designed for those who have already completed Lighting Fundamentals or comparable courses offered in industry or academia.
