PUBLIC SPACE DESIGN: HOW IT HAS SHAPED THE NEW YORK CITY COMMUNITY PAST AND PRESENT
For our first session of the "Designing Our Community" series, the Facilities Forum will investigate the evolution of public space design in New York City. We will highlight the contrast between the history and present day design of public spaces and the affects they have had on the social and economic fabric of the city. Our speaker Barry Lewis will lead a discussion looking at the changing direction of public design from the urban motivation of the pre-World War II years and how it helped shape our business landscape, to the more suburban focus of the 50's to the renewed interest in our city present day.
