**NEWS FLASH FROM GBCI**

The final testing date for the current versions of the LEED CI & NI exam is June 30th, 2009. 

You must register for the exam by March 31st, 2009. 

If you don't pass the exam the first time, you will need to re-register for a second sitting prior to March 31st meaning you’d have to test the first time on or before the 31st.  If you’re planning to take the exam, aim to sit for it as early as you can just in case.

Why test now instead of waiting for the new system? 
When the system changes, there will be two separate exams, a Green Associates intro level and a LEED AP+ similar to the current level of certification.  Fees will be higher and the exam lengths are longer.  Only people who have been active participants on a LEED project in the past 2-3 years will be eligible to sit for the AP+ exams.  If you pass the exam in its current format, you will be automatically grandfathered in as a LEED AP+ and no further testing will be required.
