Re:work Gets Design Professionals Back in the Game
The Mohawk Group – including its four brands Bigelow, Lees, Karastan and Durkan – in partnership with IIDA and Interior Design magazine, is helping to fill an industry void by hosting a series of events called Re:work. This day-long forum, slotted for six cities, will to be held in major cities throughout the U.S., and is designed to help out-of-work architects and designers get back to the drawing board, and hopefully, back to work within our industry.
The free, day-long workshop and seminar-style event will provide valuable opportunities to work with experts on resume writing, financial planning, interview skills and career coaching, while offering constructive industry insight from architects and designers. Information about local career and other job loss-related resources in each city will also be available to attendees. The events are IDCEC accredited for 0.4 CEUs. The events will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in each area; participants must register to attend.

“This is an extraordinary initiative and brilliant yet simple response by Mohawk, initiated at a grassroots level by company reps in this rough economy. Mohawk has pledged to support the clients who have become their friends as well as colleagues," commented Cheryl Durst, IIDA Executive Vice President/CEO, Hon. IIDA.
