IIDA NY AWARDS $25,000 IN STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS 
 
New York, NY – On Thursday, April 2, 2009, the IIDA New York Chapter (IIDA NY) held its annual Student Scholarship Awards and Student Mixer at the Steelcase showroom at 4 Columbus Circle in New York City. IIDA NY awarded five $5,000 scholarships in Interior Design plus ten one-year IIDA Student Memberships to winners and honorable mention recipients.

In order to qualify, students must be currently enrolled as a junior, senior or graduate student in an accredited New York State college or university Interior Design program. 55 Students from 8 schools submitted 125 projects for consideration.

The 2009 IIDA NY Student Scholarship Awards Winners are:

• Peerapong Sornnuwat, Pratt Institute
• Larissa Raywood, School of Visual Arts
• Sang-Pyo Hong, Fashion Institute of Technology
• Anna Pilarska, Pratt Institute
• Horacio Hernandez, Fashion Institute of Technology.

Honorable Mentions were awarded to:

• Daniel Park, New York School of Interior Design
• Ambar Margarida, School of Visual Arts
• Mohamed Amer, School of Visual Arts
• Anupriya Subbian, Pratt Institute
• Gal Vaknin, Fashion Institute of Technology.

Scholarship entries were judged by IIDA NY Board Members and design professionals:
